A Family Missions Trip

[The] weekend allowed me to experience new and budding relationships with you and others in your congregation. I feel above all God wants us to love one another in His name. I felt a strong Christian love coming from the members who were in service with us both on Saturday’s work day and on Sunday in Worship. I only truly wish that I could communicate with your Spanish-only speaking members.  But, by God’s hand, we made it work! As a parent, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to show my children what God wants from his people. It is not enough to teach them through words, it must come through actions modeled by adult Christians. It is not enough to talk the talk, we must walk the walk. I really want another opportunity to get out in relationship and in service with my children. To show them that there is a big world out there and we are all connected by God. God is a big God and he is God for ALL peoples. I believe that God puts people in our lives for a purpose. I don’t exactly know what His purpose is at this time, but I feel a deep pull to stay connected to [Oak Cliff UMC]. My family intends to come back to Oak Cliff UMC for Worship and hopefully Oak Cliff UMC will invite us to serve side-by-side in some sort of inner-city mission project. I think of Oak Cliff UMC often in my prayers and I feel blessed to have met you guys in this time of my life.                                                    -Sandra, Prosper, TX
